Defining your Legacy 2018 : Together we mentor future kings, 01 Day workshop for the entire academic staff of Royal College was organized by the Old Royalists’ HR Professionals’ Association (ORHRPA) in collaboration with the Royal College Union (RCU), the Old Royalists’ Association in UK (ORAUK) and Old Royalists in Qatar (ORQ) at the Waters Edge, Battaramulla on 29th May 2018.
In his welcome address, Prabhash Hettiarachchi the President of ORHRPA stated that this would undoubtedly create a new dimension in the human capital development in Royal College under the leadership of the Principal and Mr Athula Munasinghe Secretary of RCU. Further, he stated that the main objective of this program was to inspire the team, to promote collaboration, as there are many new teachers who have joined inthe recent past and to help them to be role models as “Royal Teachers”, rather than being just another team of teachers.
Addressing over 265 teachers who were present on that day, the Principal and the RCU Secretary emphasized the importance of continuous learning & development and getting updated with the latest knowledge
The main sessions of the workshop were as follows:-
- “Aligning your personal vision with organizational vision” by Dhammika Kalapuge,
- “Maintaining the students’ discipline within the legal framework of Sri Lanka” by Dr Prathiba Mahanamahewa
- “Mindfulness : for enhanced effectiveness in personal and professional life” by Dr Tara de Mel Thereafter, there was a very impactful panel discussion moderated by Janaka Kumarasinghe, the Executive Director of Kent Ridge with an elite panel comprised of Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe, Former Navy Commander & High Commissioner to Australia, Prof Ajantha Dharmasiri, Professor in Management, Director and the Chairman of the Board of Management of PIM, Ishan Dantanarayana, the Chief People Officer, Brandix Group and Prasath Nanayakkara, the Chairman and CEO, Auxenta Inc..
