The fire that engulfed the Scout Room on the 10th of October 2022, caused significant damage. Sri Lanka Navy and the Royal College Old Boys of East Coast Foundation USA (ROCOBECF) came forward to renovate the Scout Room. With the support extended by the Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Priyantha Perera, Royal College was able to obtain the services of Navy electrical engineers and civil engineers to estimate the budget for the renovation. Mr. Senaka Seneviratne, an old scout from ROCOBECF, along with its membership and the generous contribution from Dr. Suku Nagendran, came forward and donated Rs. 2 million for the renovation. In addition to the financial contribution by ROCOBECF, ACL Cables and Robbialac donated cables and paint while the renovations were carried out free of charge by the Sri Lanka Navy. The renovation work was completed and the renovated room was ceremoniously handed back to the Scouts on the 12th of November 2022. The ceremony was graced by Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenna, Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Suku Nagendran was the Guest of Honor. Rear Admiral Priyantha Perera and four past presidents of ROCOBECF were also present at the ceremony.
